Privacy Policy for Video Frame Extractor

Effective date: 2026-10-16

Video Frame Extractor works entirely inside your browser. It has no server and collects no data: no analytics, no accounts, no tracking. The single network request it ever makes is described under Permissions: once, when the extension is installed, it checks whether our Welcome page site is reachable. The request sends no data.

What stays on your device

Videos you open, recordings you make, and the pictures you extract stay on your computer. Your last recording is kept in the extension’s own storage on this computer until the next recording replaces it. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.

Permissions — what they do and why

“Record this tab” asks Chrome for permission to capture the tab the first time you use it. The extension only records the tab you chose, only after you press Start, only the area inside the frame, and never sound.

“Window or whole screen” uses Chrome’s own picker: you choose what is shared and stop it at any time.

Report a problem

“Report a problem” only prepares a message: in Gmail on the web, in your email program, or as text to copy. You see the whole text first, and nothing is sent unless you send it yourself.
